About ListedCheck UK

ListedCheck UK tells you, for any postcode in England, whether a building is listed and at what grade, whether it sits in a conservation area or under an Article 4 direction, and what other heritage designations are nearby. The check is free. For one property you can then buy a dated PDF of the consent rules: the Heritage Consent Report at £9.99, or the Conservation Area Consent Report at £7.99.

Where the facts come from

Listings, grades and other designations come live from Historic England's National Heritage List for England. Conservation areas and Article 4 directions come from planning.data.gov.uk, where each council publishes its own; postcodes are placed with postcodes.io (ONS). All of it is open data under the Open Government Licence. The consent rules follow the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 and related law as published on legislation.gov.uk. What it is not

ListedCheck UK is an independent private service. It is not Historic England, a council or any government body, and it does not give legal, planning or surveying advice. It covers England only.
